Birth Photography
Consider this... The most important day of your life. You've dreamt of this moment for as long as you can remember; you're going to be a Mama!! For the last nine months you've thought of nothing but this one thing and you've planned for so long for this special moment. You had a party to celebrate the upcoming day, you rearranged your plans and made accommodations to your home for the new arrival. The day of is here, and you're so full of adrenaline, immersed in the moment... that you don't take a single photo. Maybe a nurse grabs your phone and snaps a couple pics... but she's clearly not a photographer. What would you do?
If it were me, I'd make sure that no mom would have to experience the feeling of having "missed" one of life's biggest moments, and left the day undocumented, again. Because this was me. Birth never goes to plan... they tell you that, and even still, you plan as if it will. But as crazy as the day was, I don't remember 85% of it, and the only photos I have of labor and birth are ones that a nurse took right after she was born. God bless her for those beautifully considerate pictures... but I have maybe 5 from the whole experience and you can't even see my expression.. my face the moment I "became" a mom. That's my "Why" when people ask "why birth?" Because if you ever considered photography for this, the answer is yes. Do it. Get the moment DOCUMENTED! Your significant other, your mom or whoever you have there, will want to BE there. As they should! If you would spend thousands of dollars for a wedding photographer for a wedding that you've planned, waited in expectation for, had parties to celebrate for.... Consider the same for a birth. No matter how many children you have or will have, whether it's in a hospital or home, this is one of the most influential moments of your life. Get it documented by a photographer who knows the intimate nature, the sacredness of birth and life itself. Let me help you remember these moments as they happened.
